Colin Peters
Hi! My name is Colin Peters, Owner of Perfect Ground Solutions Ltd
After a career in agrochemicals and food research, I set up Perfect Ground Solutions in 2007 to provide friendly advice and help on all aspects of lawn and grass maintenance, and chemical application.
I still work part time as a crop specialist in the agricultural research industry. I have formal qualifications in plant physiology, as well as industry qualifications relating to the application of plant protection products as well as fertilisers. (BASIS and Facts). I was also a trainer and assessor for NPTC (now City and Guilds Ground Care) for many years training and assessing many farmers and growers in all aspects of spraying crops.
The lawncare area of our work aims to provide bespoke plans for all customers, be they home owners or commercial gardeners. We have a wide range of clients, many of which are commercial garden or ground care professional experts who use our services to compliment their own skills. Our skills are in interrogating problems and offering solutions. We do not adopt a fixed strategy as this does not suit all lawns.
From my history and training in agricultural research and for the years I have been running Perfect Ground Solutions, I have built up a detailed understanding of soil processes, soil management and soil health, helped by my wife and co director Dr. E Stockdale who is a soil scientist. This is often a very undervalued and often misunderstood but critical substrate, and we aim to help people understand how best to manage it for sustainability and to get the best from it.
As a retired NPTC/ City and Guilds Assessor of all pesticide application tests, I have a detailed knowledge of all aspects relating to the application of plant protection product. This knowledge is very useful in making g sure that all our own work is carried out to a high standard but also useful in helping others improve their own systems or techniques
Reece Bissmire
Reece has been with us for several years, he is Arsenal mad and tends to know who of our clients has an interest in football, and who they support. Tottenham fans look forwards to his visits when Arsenal have lost!
Ben Dowding
Ben tends to look after the Eastern side of the area as he is based in Harlow, he is a family man with two young children, hence tends to start early so he can collect the children from school.
