    We're Hiring - Lawncare and Groundworks Supervisor

    We are looking to recruit a Lawncare and Groundworks Supervisor for immediate start.

    Perfect Ground Solutions is an independent lawncare company established in 2008.  It delivers high-quality lawn maintenance, renovation and construction.

    The appointee will:

    • Work independently or as part of a small team helping to construct, maintain and improve lawns and amenity grassland areas by cultural renovations, turfing, overseeding and applying a wide range of plant protection products and fertilisers.
    • Co-ordinate and plan staff activity and equipment for lawncare and groundworks projects.
    • Visit perspective customers and supply quotes as required.
    • Monitor use and condition of equipment and carry out routine maintenance.
    • Work with the Directors to review work practices, suggest improvements and contribute to business development.

    This is a salaried position with vehicle provided and a competitive salary, based on experience.

    We work a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday.

    Lawncare and Groundworks supervisor

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Co-ordinate and plan staff activity and equipment for lawncare and groundworks projects including assessment of access, volumes and timescales.
    • Work independently or as part of a team helping to construct, maintain and improve lawns and amenity grassland areas by cultural renovations, turfing, overseeding and applying a wide range of plant protection products and fertilisers, including:
      • Application of plant protection products to grassland areas in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner
      • Application of fertilisers to grassland areas accurately
      • Application of total herbicides in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner
    • Transport heavy equipment and assist on larger groundworks projects driving plant as directed.
    • Visit perspective customers, carry out new work assessments, explain clearly to customers the planned activities and quote accordingly.
    • Assess existing work and supply quotes for additional activities as required.
    • Monitor use and condition of lawncare and groundworks equipment, identify faults and carry out routine maintenance.
    • Monitor stock levels and place orders where required
    • Engage on a one-to-one basis with customers in a polite and friendly manner, providing advice and feedback where possible.
    • Keeping vehicles and equipment clean and tidy and reporting any defects.
    • Work with the Directors to review work practices, suggest improvements and contribute to business development.

    Personal Qualities and Skills

    • Able to plan reasonable workloads and give clear instructions to staff.
    • Good listening skills; open to receive feedback from staff and customers.
    • Able to work outdoors carrying out physically-demanding tasks for up to 8 hours in a day.
    • Flexibility of working hours; some quotes need to be done at weekends
    • Comfortable towing trailers and using plant (e.g. dumpers) after training if required.
    • Presentable and polite
    • Good timekeeping
    • Able to calculate volumes and areas
    • Good knowledge of IT and comfortable keeping accurate records on tablets

    Qualifications

    • Full Driving License
    • PA1, PA2, PA6 (training will be provided if required)
